Friend,
I remember the day, the first time we spoke
How our chemistry exploded
and our laughter filled the holes of sorrow.
My friend, how can I thank you today?
For every day, I remember you
In every dua, I pray for you
Never do I find it is enough,
not for you,
nor for this enormous love and friendship,
that has entered in my dunya
We spoke one time, it was not the last,
God was so merciful, he made my life a blast
We seemed to know each other, inside and out,
How come? I don’t know,
can’t recall seeing you before.
Still we acted like life-time friends,
Don’t you worry, if time is generous,
Allah Almighty merciful,
we’ll make it through,
we’ll be lifetime friends,
in the end too
My Lord,
you haven’t created enough words,
or so I feel
I can’t seem to find the right ones,
To express these feelings.
My sister, my friend,
Thank you for just exisiting
Don’t worry, I’ve thanked Allah Almighty
from day one to two, day three to four,
Not a single day I forgot
To utter your name,
to remember you even though it rained.
Maybe for others in silence,
My heart seemed to scream
“My beloved sister, I’m here
You’re always in my heart,
Dear God, be her friend,
Give her that which has no end
Be merciful of this Muslimah,
She’s more than I can explain,
You know best, my Lord,
You’ve blessed me, with her in my thoughts
With her in my heart.
“Dearest Friend,
I want you to know,
You are loved and cared for
Even though miles and miles away
This flame of eternal friendship
Will never be wiped away.
